Course outline:
Most manual therapists have traditionally been taught a very mechanical model when it comes to soft tissue therapy. Recently, many people would agree that the benefits we achieve with soft tissue therapy can be attributed to both the neurological effect as well as the biomechanical effect. This new Soft Tissue Course focuses on the integration of the neurological components of soft tissue therapy and the traditional benefits mechanically of soft tissue therapy. Our “less is more” approach helps you to get the best result for your clients, with the minimal effective dose.
This course will look at various manual therapy inputs such as using:
- RockBlades (IASTM)
- RockPods (cupping)
- RockFloss bands (compression) and
- Vibration Therapy (massage guns/devices)
The first part of the course will look at the proposed mechanisms of effect of soft tissue therapy at both brain and tissue level. We will also demonstrate how to effectively use these tools to create a therapeutic window for reducing pain and improving function, allowing us to better complete an exercise program to “lock in” our changes.
The second part will be a “masterclass” approach, with practice of how we might integrate the various tools into our management of common clinical scenarios.
The philosophy of RockTape courses is always to learn the concept not just the technique. This ensures that people understand the “why”, not just the “how”. This means that you can return to the clinic with some new treatment modalities and approaches that you can incorporate into your treatments immediately.
